Hints & Tips
Who To Bring Along
We’re happy to have yourself plus two of your nearest & dearest instore to help you choose your dream gown. Other loved ones can be involved via Zoom/Facetime or maybe even bring them along another day to show them your chosen dress. Its best to only bring those who are necessary to help you make your decision as a surprising number of brides do find their dream gown on their first appointment. Two of your closest family or friends is just perfect.
If possible, try have an idea of what you like
Do I need to bring/wear anything specific?
As per government guidance, please bring a face covering with you to your consultation. This applies to both yourself & your guests. We do provide shoes, so don’t panic about this, but it is best to wear a good strapless bra, nude briefs or any shapewear that you may be planning to wear on your big day.
Do I need an appointment?
Yes appointments are necessary, especially at the moment with all of the Covid restrictions in place. This is just so we can make sure we have dressing room available & one of our fabulous Bridal Consultants free to look after you. Saturday & evening appointments do tend to book up a few weeks in advance, however weekday appointments may be more readily available. Please note there is a £20 fee for your initial 1.5hr Bridal or Bridesmaids Consultation with our Bridal Experts. Further appointments are £10 each. We are so excited to help you find your dream dress!!!
When should I begin my search?
We find the best time to begin your search for your dream gown is approximately 1 yrs before your big day. On average, delivery can take approximately 6months and then once you’ve found your gown, the search for your bridesmaids can begin, which can also take approximately 5months to arrive!! Sometimes it can take a while to find your dream gown, so its best to allow plenty of time, so that you avoid any stressful time constraints. Also, most seamstresses will allow up to 12 weeks for alterations, depending on what is required.
What if I need my gown altered?
Shellie who owns Divinity is a qualified Fashion Designer & can therefore advise on what alterations might be required & also what wonderful modifications we can make to your gown to make it just perfect! We can also recommend two fabulous seamstresses that we work closely with. Each of these seamstresses are highly skilled in their field. They are, however, self-employed & are not connected to Divinity Bridal in any way other than a recommendation.
